Muse and I - a major night to remember

My son Robin runs our taxi firm M-Cabs. We have three cars and are kept pretty busy on a day-to-day basis. On June 3, Robin had a phone call from a lad who wanted to go to Bristol late afternoon the following day and then get picked up in the wee small hours of Thursday morning. When he asked for more details, it turned out that Robin was talking to Morgan Nicholls of Muse, the additional fourth member of the original three piece rock band from Teignmouth in Devon that Roger Taylor of Queen recently described as “probably the greatest live act in the world". Robin asked if we could have two tickets to see the show and Morgan said "of course".

Muse back stage passI knew Muse were good and had an amazing light show but nothing prepared me for the show Robin and I saw at the Bristol City football Stadium, a sellout of 46,000. We had the best seats in the house and all the fun of the hospitality room before and after. I had to wear this badge at all times which gave me access to all areas. The show was something I will never forget till my dying day, sheer unadulterated spectacle. Everyone there was in another world for over two hours; the music, graphics, lasers, lights, huge noise, dancers, mesmerising video screens, utterly spectacular driving, thrashing thunderous music.

Oh yes! Muse kept Bristol awake that night.

I didn’t spot anyone I recognised in hospitality but Robin and I had a major night to remember. Thank you Muse and just in case you are wondering we did get paid as well. We'd certainly love to take Muse (or indeed you) on one of our Lyme Regis mackerel fishing or Lyme Regis deep sea fishing trips available daily from the harbour at the Cobb.
