Storm Jorge rainbow over Lyme Bay

This stunning picture was snapped by Christine during Storm Jorge. The photo was taken later on in the day on February 29 as the winds started to drop a little. A very strong intense rain storm had just passed across Lyme Bay and this was the scene immediately afterwards.

Jorge RainbowNotice the colour of the sea and the way it has really been stirred up. Minus the rainbow, this has unfortunately been the normal state of the ocean for the last five months. Of course, its been the same all over the country and everyone is only too aware that something is happening that we have never seen before, rain, gales, storms with hardly a day off between. This has to be global warming and we have to wonder just what is in store for us for the remainder of 2020.

Hopefully the jet stream will calm down and move away from battering our coastline. If our weather settles down and we have a normal spring and summer that millions are hoping for we will have Lyme Regis mackerel fishing and Lyme Regis deep sea fishing trips sailing from Lyme Regis harbour on every single available day.

No more storms please!
